Superbase Professional is the result of over 8 man-years of intensive
research and development in computerized database management systems.
By purchasing this product, you have placed in your hands a system
designed by experts, which combines power and ease of use in a way
unique to your computer.
We urge you to take full advantage of Superbase Professional! To
do this, you should at least examine the contents of both manuals and
the manual addendum stored in the README!.doc file on the Program disk. We
also suggest you become aware of the support facilities which PP&S
has designed to handle your needs. The following paragraphs
summarize these important support provisions and provide guidelines
for their use.

About O.S.I.N.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The Official Superbase Information Network (OSIN) is an electronic
bulletin board system dedicated to the users of Superbase
Professional. Through this system, you will be able to receive
technical assistance directly from Superbase Application Developers,
and from Progressive's technical support staff. OSIN provides you with
a forum for discussion of Superbase projects with other users all over
North America. For additional information, please contact our technical
services department. You will receive information about OSIN when you
send in your completed use registration card. Communication with a
bulletin board system is accomplished via telephone with a modem. If
you are unfamiliar with this procedure, you are missing out on one of
the most convenient and informative services available to you, and
we strongly recommend that you speak with your dealer to find out
more about this process.
Official Superbase Application Developers
-------------------------------------------------------------------
An Official Superbase Application Developer (OSAD) receives additional
support from PP&S to facilitate development of professional or
commercial database applications. OSADs can, in certain instances,
receive marketing advice or assistance directly from PP&S after
completing their application. OSAD conferences are planned, with
special guest speakers to give their expert insights on Superbase
Professional's powerful development system. More details regarding
OSADs will be posted to the Official Superbase Information Network (OSIN).
Technical Support:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Technical Support is always available through OSIN. We have the
capability of 16 incoming phone lines, which virtually eliminates
waiting, and you are never put on hold. You may post your question at any
time, day or night, even on weekends. Although some questions may
take several hours of research, you will often receive an answer
the same day. This method of support is very effective, since you
can, if necessary, transmit files, forms, application code and
your own comments directly to the technical support department.
This dramatically increases the quality and efficiency of the
support you can receive.
As always, you may ask for assistance via U.S. Mail. We will
answer each letter as quickly as possible, but we strongly
recommend use of OSIN for the quickest response.
Premium Technical Support is available by phone Monday through
Thursday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm , Mountain Standard Time, Friday 9:00 am
to 5:00 pm. (excluding holidays)
Most technical support questions are more difficult to explain
over a telephone than they would be if presented in a concise,
visible way. We therefore strongly urge all users to send
inquiries via the OSIN, or in writing. This gives the technical
support department the opportunity to research questions in a
more thorough way and answer in a more detailed, direct fashion.
Please respect the rights of other users to obtain telephone
support by not abusing your telephone support priveleges with
long, drawn-out discourses involving complex situations. If you
suspect you have found a problem in the program, take the time to
see if the problem repeats and write down the circumstances under
which the bug surfaced. If possible, adhere to the "Bug Report"
format you'll receive in your technical support packet. In this
way, the quality of the support you have access to will continuously
improve.
NOTE: TECHNICAL SUPPORT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE IN ANY FORM
BEFORE RECEIVING A VERIFICATION OF REGISTRATION PACKET. THIS PACKET
WILL CONTAIN THE TECH SUPPORT NUMBER NEEDED TO RECEIVE TECHNICAL

FRAMEGRABBER!

One of the most convenient ways of generating IFF graphics for use
in Superbase is with a realtime color digitizer like Framegrabber,
which is manufactured by PP&S. Framegrabber can capture live color
images from a color camera, b&w camera, VCR, or even television
broadcasts, and save them to disk in various graphic modes. These
images can then be edited or simply used "as is" to form a picture
database with Superbase! The possibilities opened up by this process
are virtually limitless. We have included samples of images that
were digitized by Framegrabber. These are stored on the Forms Editor
disk in standard IFF format. If you like what you see, contact your
